AVS Tools

Last updated: April 19, 2026

Overview

AVS Tools ("the App") is developed by Longeron (formerly JASSCO) for aviation MRO, inventory, and quality-control workflows. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Collect

The App collects only the minimum data necessary to operate:

  • Salesforce / AvSight Credentials — Your Salesforce username, password, and security token are stored locally on your device in the iOS Keychain (encrypted). They are used solely to authenticate with your Salesforce org for inventory lookups, record updates, and attaching QC photos as ContentVersion files.
  • PrintNode API Key — Your PrintNode API key is stored locally in the iOS Keychain. It is used solely to authenticate with the PrintNode API to send label print jobs to your configured printer.
  • AvPics Photos — Photos you capture in the AvPics workflow are stored locally on your device under the app's Documents directory. Timestamp and batch-reference metadata are optionally burned into the image before it is saved, per your Settings choice.
  • AvPics Sign-In (optional) — If you sign in to AvPics, an authentication token and your company identifier are stored in the iOS Keychain so photo batches can be synced to Longeron's Supabase backend for web viewing.
  • Preferences — Your selected printer, copy count, compression profile, tab order, burn-timestamp toggle, and similar preferences are stored locally on-device in UserDefaults.
  • Recent Reference IDs — The last 10 inventory / order reference IDs you scanned are cached locally so you can re-tap them in the New Batch screen.

Camera & Photo Library

  • Camera — The App uses the camera to scan inventory, order, and location barcodes, and to capture QC photos. Camera frames are never transmitted off-device until you explicitly capture a still photo and either save it to a QC batch or approve it for upload.
  • Photo Library — If you use the "Import From Library" feature in AvPics, only the specific photos you select are imported into the batch. The App never scans or reads other photos in your library.
  • Photo Library Additions — If you choose to save an annotated QC photo back to your Photos library, only that single photo is written.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • No analytics or usage tracking
  • No personal information beyond the Salesforce username you enter
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No device fingerprinting
  • No location data
  • No contacts, calendar, or health data

Third-Party Services

The App communicates with the following third-party services:

  • Salesforce / AvSight — The App communicates with your Salesforce org to look up inventory, orders, and locations; update records (e.g. move inventory); and upload QC photos as ContentVersion files attached to the relevant record. Your credentials and the uploaded content go directly from your device to Salesforce. See Salesforce's Privacy Policy.
  • PrintNode API (printnode.com) — To list printers and submit label print jobs. Your API key and the generated label PDF are sent directly to PrintNode. See PrintNode's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase (Longeron-managed) — QC photos you capture are uploaded to Longeron's Supabase project for use in the web gallery. Rows are scoped per company via row-level security so your company's photos are only visible to your company's authenticated users. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple StoreKit — If the App ever offers in-app subscriptions, all subscription data is handled by Apple. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage & Security

  • All sensitive credentials (Salesforce login, security token, PrintNode API key, AvPics auth token) are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted at the hardware level.
  • Non-sensitive preferences are stored in the app's local UserDefaults sandbox.
  • QC photos live in the app's Documents directory, which is encrypted at rest and only accessible to the AVS Tools app on that device.
  • Uploads to Supabase and Salesforce use HTTPS with TLS.
  • Supabase row-level security enforces that a user only reads or writes rows belonging to their own company.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Credentials, uploaded photos, and print jobs are sent only to the service you configured (your Salesforce org, your PrintNode account, Longeron's Supabase project) as required to fulfill the action you initiate.

Data Retention

On-device data stays on your device. Uninstalling the App removes local photos, preferences, and UserDefaults state. Credentials stored in the iOS Keychain may persist across re-install depending on your iOS version and iCloud Keychain settings. Photos uploaded to Supabase are retained under Longeron's data retention policy; contact us if you need them deleted.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
